WHY SEAM

The gaps in the system have coordinates.

For roughly 1.3 billion adults, no bank will open an account, no credit file exists, and no landlord accepts the income — and the AI economy is about to add to their number. SEAM is built for that seam: getting paid, keeping money, and proving yourself, without a bank's permission.

WHY CASH COSTS MORE AT THE BORDER

Being poor at a border now costs extra.

Cash-funded remittances lose 1% before they arrive. The same transfer, funded digitally, is exempt — so the toll lands on whoever is too excluded to hold a bank account. The wallet exists to move people to the exempt side of that line.

Money should move. Not shrink.

Every hand it passes through takes a little. Over a year that adds up to roughly a month of support, gone before anyone gets to spend it.

The
seam

One account. One proof layer. One help system.

Fewer hands in the middle, one published fee, and proof you carry with you. The join is the point — a seam carries load across the gap instead of pretending it isn't there.

Being built · nothing here is live yet

Work, a phone, a room, an account, help when it goes wrong — every one of them is becoming a door that opens on proof, and roughly 1.3 billion adults have none a system will read. That is why the wallet carries records, not just money.

WHO IS BUILDING THIS

Somebody has to be accountable for it.

A wallet and an identity file are things you have to trust somebody with. Here is who is asking.

Min Lin
Founder · New York City

Fifteen years building payments products — most of it on the rails this one needs.

I built the cash-in and cash-out network behind Stellar's Vibrant wallet — 180+ countries, MoneyGram and regional agents — and ran the compliance programmes underneath it. Before SEAM I helped deliver $4.5M in aid to displaced people, with UNHCR and the IRC. Earlier: Alipay North America, Fiserv/Clover, American Express, Deloitte.

SEAM also builds for freelancers — a US income-and-tax engine for irregular earners. Same thesis, nearest seam.
