Your wallet is protected by this device, your SEAM passkey, and continuous security checks. Nothing needs your attention.

If someone is standing over you

A lock keeps out someone who does not know your passcode. It does not keep out someone standing over you who can make you type it. That is the honest limit of what SEAM can do.

How you unlock
Face & fingerprintOpens SEAM · never Identity
Opening your identity fileA passcode you type
Lock Identity when I leave it
Stored passwordNone
Unlock to open SEAM

Your biometrics stay on this phone — SEAM only ever receives a yes or a no. Face opens the wallet. It never opens your identity file, which takes a passcode you type. A phone held up to your face is not an open file.

Check the name on their account

Extra checks on big sendsAIBeta

Approving signs this exact payment. Checks can pause a transfer — never approve one. SEAM can check the name on an account. It cannot check the person behind it.

What the AI checks do and don't do

The two checks marked AI are in beta. They will miss things, and they will flag things that were fine.

They can pause or slow a transfer. They never approve one for you, and they never decide who you are allowed to pay.

Watching for trouble
Account takeover & scam checksAIBeta

These signals protect your wallet only — never to judge your immigration status, your eligibility for aid, your credit, or your access to your own records.

How the watching works

AI watches before a transfer leaves and after it lands. A second pair of eyes, not a guarantee — in beta it gets things wrong in both directions.

It can pause, delay, or ask you to confirm on another device. It can never approve anything by itself.

If something wasn't you

If money left your wallet and you did not agree to it, say so. It costs nothing, a person decides it — never the AI — and at launch the licensed partner holding the money has a legal deadline to answer you in writing.

What can never let someone in

An email, a text message, or a copy of your documents cannot on their own reset your wallet. Phone numbers get recycled, documents get taken, and accounts get broken into — so none of them is enough by itself.

Sensitive recovery changes wait out a delay first, and every device you trust is told the moment one starts.

Share proof.

Nothing leaves your file unless you send it. You share one fact — not everything.

Ending a share stops any new checks straight away. Anything already shown to them, they have already seen — that part cannot be taken back.

Sending limits.

What can move, and how fast. Limits protect you as much as they restrict you.

In one send$1,000
In a day$2,000
In a month$10,000
First send to someone new$300
Used today$0.00

The lower first-send limit is deliberate. Most money lost to a scam goes out on the first payment to someone the sender had never paid before, and a cap is the one protection that works even when everything else has been talked around.

Raising them

Limits rise on their own as your history builds — nothing to apply for and nobody to convince. They are never lowered because of anything about who you are, where you were born, or your immigration status.

These figures are what SEAM intends to launch with. They are not live, and a licensed partner may require different ones.

Credential

What it proves

What it does not prove

Who has seen it

SEAM carries proof that somebody else issued. It does not replace a passport, a government ID, or any official document, and SEAM cannot issue identity itself.

First time paying them.

One screen, then you can carry on.

You have paid themNever
Does SEAM know themNo — we have never dealt with them
If it turns out to be a scamThe money is usually gone

If they got in touch first, stop and check. Reach them on a number or address you already had — not one from the message — and ask whether it was really them. Someone pretending to be family is the most common way people lose money here.

You can send a small amount first, $5 or $10, and wait until they tell you it arrived before sending the rest. Nothing makes you send it all at once.

Urgency is the most common thing a scam uses. A real emergency still survives one phone call to a number you already had — a scam usually does not.

If someone makes you open your phone.

What the lock does, what it does not, and what we will not pretend.

Locks by itselfWhen you leave the screen
What stays visible anyway

Who you have paidVisible
Your chat with the staffVisible

Locking your file hides the file. It does not hide the wallet. Anyone holding your unlocked phone can still see what you have and who you paid. We would rather you knew that than found out later.

The honest limit

A lock keeps out someone who does not know your passcode. It does not keep out someone standing over you who can make you type it. No app can fix that, and any app that says it can is selling you something.

Why there is no fake wallet

People ask for a second passcode that opens a decoy — an empty wallet, a wallet with nothing in it. We have decided not to build one, and we want the reason on the record rather than in a document nobody reads.

A decoy only helps if the person forcing you does not know decoys exist. If they suspect one, you are in more danger than if you had simply opened it — and you would be carrying that risk because we put the feature in your hand. We are not willing to hand someone a tool whose failure lands on them and not on us.

If this is happening to you

SEAM is not a lawyer and will never tell you what to do when someone with power over you is standing there. What we can say is that free immigration legal help exists in most US cities, and that a person at SEAM will talk to you — not the AI.

This describes how SEAM is designed to work. It is a demo: none of it is built, and no part of this is legal advice.

Wallet frozen

Already done — nothing can leave your wallet and no new device can be added while this is open. You can undo it from Security whenever you want.

This wasn't me.

Reporting is free, and it never counts against you.

What you're reporting
Which is closest?

Not sure is a real answer. You do not have to be certain to report something, and being wrong about it costs you nothing.

Anything you want to add (you can skip this)

Write it in whatever language you think in. You will never be asked about your immigration status, and nothing you write here leaves SEAM.

You get it in writingEither way
Held against youNever

Tell us within 60 days of the payment appearing in your history. After that the money may not have to be put back. Report it anyway — late is better than not at all.

These deadlines are what US law requires of the licensed partner that would hold your money — they are not a promise SEAM makes on its own, and no partner has signed. Nothing here is live. The rule is the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, which most people will never need to name.

THE HONEST VERSION

You are talking to an AI, and it is in beta. It can be wrong. It can warn you and it can pause a payment — it can never tell you a person is safe to pay, and it can never approve a payment for you. For anything about your immigration status, a court date or a medical bill, check with a person too.

The chat answers in your language. The rest of the app speaks English and Spanish today. The Spanish is machine-built under a locked glossary and has not yet been checked by a native speaker. That check is the bar every language must clear before it ships — a wrong word in a disclosure is worse than an English one.

Cash.

Most of the people SEAM is built for are paid in cash. Here is the honest position.

Put cash inno way to do this yet
Take cash outno way to do this yet
Shops or agents signednone
What works todaynothing — this is a demo of a plan
The cash in this demomade up, like every number here

A cash network is the hardest part of this to build and the part we can least promise. It needs a licensed partner and shops willing to hold money. We would rather say nothing is signed than let you assume something is.

Why cash changes the tax

Since January 2026 the US charges a 1% tax on money sent abroad when the sender pays with physical cash, a money order, or a cashier's check. Sending from a balance is outside it. That is why how cash gets into a wallet is not a small detail — and why we will not open cash top-ups until counsel has settled it.
